FoxNext games wanted a blocky, modern font family for their Marvel Strike Force game, with a touch of comic-bookiness to it. 

We went back and forth whether to have angles or not on the hooks of letters like C and S. We decided on angled up, which gives it a distinctive flair.

They also requested a “less stylized and more readable” companion family for large blocks of text. And so the “Text” family was born.

Both font families are available through Comicraft as ULTIMATUM and SPACE RACE.

In 2020, I expanded Space Race into the superfamily HYPERSPACE RACE for my first release as Swell Type.
